CNC Plastic Turning Services for Bushings, Sleeves & Rollers

CNC plastic turning produces rotational features by cutting supported plastic stock on a lathe. It is useful for bushings, sleeves, rollers, spacers and rings when bore, diameter and face relationships must match a customer drawing.

Rotational features and component geometry

Turned plastic parts can include stepped diameters, internal bores, grooves, faces and threaded features. Parts with additional flats or off-axis holes may need secondary milling. Specify the relationship between the bore and outside diameter, along with any runout or concentricity requirement that is important in assembly.

Material behavior during turning

POM and PEEK may support comparatively stable precision features, while PTFE and UHMW need particular attention to support and measurement force. Nylon dimensions can change with moisture exposure. The selected stock grade, geometry and environment determine whether a proposed fit is practical.

Workholding and thin-wall sleeves

A soft polymer sleeve can change shape under chuck pressure or cutting force. Review wall thickness, available support and the final inspection condition. Dimensions measured while clamped do not necessarily represent the released component. Long parts may need additional support to limit deflection.

Fits, threads and working conditions

For a bushing or roller, describe the mating shaft, load, operating temperature and lubrication conditions. Threaded components need suitable engagement for the polymer and assembly loads. A tight room-temperature fit can behave differently in service, so tolerance review should include the working environment.

Drawing-based quotation

Send the model, drawing revision, material grade, quantity, bore and diameter tolerances, surface requirements and application. The quotation should confirm manufacturing scope and inspection requirements. Use the CNC plastic machining RFQ to upload your drawing and request a turning feasibility review.
